I am overjoyed with the Redskins the election and we are going to see my Mom for Thanksgiving

It has been a long time since we have had a holiday with Mom at her house and we are bringing desert, I am baking pies and making cornbread from scratch of course. Due to my numerous food allergies I have no choice but to bake like Grandmom used to do

Thank goodness as a child I watched and learned, I remember her rising the bread on the vents in the floor and the  smell of the bread as it baked was heavenly.

I do like to bake as you know from previous posts and would open a bakery if I knew how well a gluten free bakery would do in NJ

Anyone know if there are such bakeries in any area would be a help I would love to know how well they do

It’s a hard thing to live with and the breads and baked goods are so expensive I find that $5.00 or more for a loaf of 8 slices of bread is a bit much don’t ya think

That is one reason for my wanting to do this and with economy in shambles I doubt it would do well right now but then again maybe it would fly

We are currently having our back steps replaced with blocks from Anchor concrete they do wonderful work

I am sure you have seen a n ad on DIY about Oldcastle block well Anchor is an offshoot of that and they will become Oldcastle in January as the parent company wants to change the name, the company is out of Ireland I believe and is an established company

My Redskins well of course they win but lose a few but they have come a long way since JOE GIBBS UGH

Thanks to Jim Zorn and his choices we have a nice record and if we can win the rest of our games we possibly could go further I am not sure of a superbowl but I keep my fingers crossed

As for Chris’ Jets FAVRE is not any good and the wins are just luck he tosses the ball to the other team too much and when they lost to Oakland OMG my Mom who is an Oakland fan   just had to call and rib him LOL

I think we will do well with Mr. Obama he seems like he has a plan but don’t they all, we will see what he does after January 21st and I will cross those fingers and hope he can get us out of 8 years of failed policies I just hope he can get rid of all the old senators and congressman with the old ideas and start fresh

Whew we are just about ready to close the pool and get ready for the Winter BLUES LOL

Summer is our time to just kick back and enjoy our fruits of labor during the rest of the year,the garden is fabulous and we have already put up tomato sauce eggplant and other good things for the winter. I would share just come on over and we will have a ball

Chris' Mom is a fantastic cook and had taught Chris the secrets to her cooking and Mom and Dad had come down 2 weekends ago to refresh him on preserving,she also gave me a book with recipes to copy or to find this book she has. I in my own right am a good cook so they say been at it since the age of 9 and Chris enjoys it as does his family, if you want recipes lets exchange.

On to our summer I could go all day about cooking etc so let's not. June was fun Chris and i celebrated our 1st year of wedded bliss and we just had a nice day except for finding a place to eat lol. We decided on a restaurant and as soon as we arrived it wasn't opening until the following day, onto the next it was packed as were the next 5. One thing about the Jersey Shore it is the worst when it comes to finding a place on the weekend. We finally found one after about 2 hours of driving around my dinner was fabulous Chris just hated his blah flounder and he told the waitress he wanted veal but they were out his next choice was the tilapia which I had OMG it was so good, we took his home and I fixed it the following day and it was so much better. The rest of the weekend was cozy it was also my 49th birthday and we just hung out because the weekend before it had been Fathers day and we celebrated Mom's birthday, mine,Mom and dad's anniversary,ours and Fathers day.I got a cake from Mrs. Walkers homemade ice cream and it said Happy Everything LOL we all laughed it was just the best way

July started with a bang the teen behind us loves fireworks but setting them off at 1030 at night was not Chris idea of fun it was during the week and well I have never seen him so Pissed he scared even me. He yelled out the back door and OMG I heard a very quiet I am sorry and then the lights went out so I know they got the message, then Chris went back to bed it was a work night for crying out loud give us a break. Now we know the 4th was coming but he was lighting them off since the end of school it as just getting annoying all day every day you now what I mean. Mom came on the 11th her friends from North Carolina drove her and she stayed through August 16th. As you remember we had the wedding August 2nd so she came to depart with us as Norfolk is a hub and it would have taken her forever to fly to Florida. We had a great time I love my Mom and she is my inspiration as she took care of my Dad for 30 years what a lasting love that is. He passed away in 2004 and when she comes we go to his final resting place to visit it's heartwrenching to go but I just feel better inside to let it out. We read and floated in the pool shopped till we dropped cooked LOL I did but we had her make a pork roast I HATE PORK Chris loves it so she really enjoyed cooking for him, i had some new recipes for her uh oh lost track back to cooking hee hee, so I shared and found a book I have on Amazon so we ordered it for her.

My sister took her for 2 nights so she could see the girls and we were thankful she got to see the youngest she lives upstate NEw York and rarely comes to visit as her father well we won't go there, he's not my favorite person but she's a doll and we or shall I say Chris had her jumping into the pool she was scared at first but afetr she did OMG it was non stop splashing then. Doreen said she passed out on thewayhome I wish my sis could see her growing up she would be so proud and we are sure she is.

The flight to Florida sucked sorry but Continental airlines blows, it was cancelled naturally after we were there for 45 minutes and the courtesy counter didn't even know until we told them and 3 hours later we took off, Mom and I were hurting by the time we landed and Chris well he was just ticked wait till you here about our return flight ,we arrived at the Palm beach Marriot late of course it was beautiful we had requested rooms close by but nope it was down the end of the hall but quiet for us Mom was near the elevator and noisy. We just had a great time we did not eat in the hotel but Bill my cousin told us about City Place the downtown shopping and dining area. Wow Broozies I think it's spelt that way was fabulous it's a brewery and restaurant in one and we did not know the rehearsal dinner was to be there it was fabulous and they make cottage chips which are simply kettle fried potato chips AWESOME!!!

We did find a kitchen nightmare Howleys in West Palm Gordon Ramsey would have a field day with this place iot was gross grease pit is a better name for it I almost heaved when we left, the thing I don't get is it's been there for ever looks that way too EWWWWW is all we can say everything else was wonderful as far as West Palm was concerned. We had gone to Bills the night after we arrived saw Christine eric and had dinner with them Saturday the day of the wedding it was so hot but the kids had met on that day so how nice to get married on a special day. Christine looked gorgeous and pictures will follow as I have time to go and uplaod to the site. The food was great the DJ was all right and most of the guests were from New Jersey as Eric is from our great state. They had the reception at the Frenchmans reserve a country club in Port St Lucie I believe the church was a gorgeous little place in Palm Beach they got married there as Christine's church is being renovated but she requested her priest to say the mass and marry them, it was lovely.

I was so happy to see my cousins 2nd and third cousins it was so much fun and the DJ had requested everyone that had been married from the day 1 all the way up to 65 years to join him and Christine Eric and his grandparents danced it was touching, his grandparents danced to a song they had danced to when they got married and we were told he took physical therapy just to do this as his legs have been failing which made it that much more special. The grounds were just beautiful Chris and I took  a walk abotu and the evening was really nice and it was refreshing to go outside and just watch the sunset.

The ride home was by bus as Bill did not want anyone having a problem wih alcohol and driving which some were very grateful they had this if ya know what I mean, oone of the guests needed assistance as she was not able to go it alone she had medical problems but had a glass to many which was not helping so my cousin hellped her to her room we could not locate her son but figured he left with the group to party elsewhere after the wedding

The rest of the vacation was well just Florida and we could not wait to get back home it was just enough to have stayed the weekend but we decided to stay a week and well it was a tad too long and got longer

The flight home was miserable everything was going well we got on board at our appointed time and noticed the plane was 1/2 full so we thought great we can stretch out and relax OH YEAH right a voice said please disembark as we have a problem with Newark and it would be a 30 minute delay OMG then after abotu 10 minutes we were told to get back on and my goodness the palne was full um what do you know, how convenient but then we sat for 4 minutes waiting to take off and it was horrible. When we landed we had to sit on the tarmac for 45 minutes because they gave our gate away I have never flown an airline like this.10 years ago I vowed not to ever fly them again but low and behold they did it to me again, I called but they said they reserve the right to do this to passengers. Excuse me I said I reserve the right to complain as to my horrible experience woith your damn airline how dare you. I wanted to call homeland security as our luggage arrived before we did and although we were glad for that it was questionable as to how 3 suitcases took off without passengers. Is this not a security issue I would never had placed the luggage on the plane. I could go on forever about Continental but as I say they SUCK.

We have had a very busy Summer as you see and now it's Football time the Redskins just sre terrible and I wasure they would do good but they got a whooping and deserved it the lastt 3 preseason games and then they get beat by the Giants in a not so thrilling boring game what the heck is Zorn doing does he know.

Chris is happy with Favre and was in amazement as to his hail mary yesterday it was a win but not pretty so said Favre but you have to give him credit he did get them a win against the QB he replaced Chad just needed to go he just irked Chris everytime he played so he was thankful he was traded and speak about trading the redskins had the opportunity to get Chad Johnson but would not relinquish a first round pick OMG guys why!!!!!! Get rid of Portis and get some talent I know he's a theatrical nut but he plays well OCHO CINCO is his new minker it's funny but hey he is a performer and I like his antics.

Well I have things to do like update my book lists music and whatever else I might due I like the changing seasons so I am thinking a fall back ground would be nice

Stay tuned and I will continue this in a few days as I have just had an epidural injection in my Sciatic joint to relieve the pain I have in my hip. Does this ever end I hate falling apart at the seams but if it helps I am all for it. I am researching accupuncture anyoine ever have it done I need help  here because I want an alternative to pain

This  has been a great start to the summer season

Pool is open but chilly Bring your towels take a dip

We have been quite busy planting cleaning up getting everything ready for Summer

I did a fractal and it came out looking like duck feathers so I created a pond background using the tablet OMG it is so cool

I then found a picture of a  Tiger and drew the entire thing from scratch that also came out great that I will post soon on both sites

I had been introduced to paint.net it works like photoshop but lacks some cool features but then has a few of it's own I particularly like the water reflection on both but photoshop is clearly the winner there more realistic

Well I am off to grab a few more fractals I use a program called Apophysis and create them from scratch feel free to use them

The past couple of weeks have been whirlwinds of activity,and this week is no exception.

The week began rainy and windy the pool would have to wait another couple of days,we are looking forward to our Summer time fun and really just enjoy the relaxation of our pool

The rest on Monday went well despite getting soaked we had to go out

I had the regular Doctor appointment and he told me to come back in 2 months I was thrilled, I have been going to this pain management doctor for 3 years now and finally I have graduated to every other month BIG SMILE after that grocery shopping and then we were making cannelloni; it takes time but Chris was home so we decided to get it done; last time until the fall when it gets cool enough to cook inside

Then on Tuesday I had a hearing test and yes I am still deaf in one ear I do joke about this as they always think it will change but in 48 years the same  Now they want me to get a hearing aid !!! I asked if it is a necessity and of course they replied that it would be beneficial if I were to be able to work again I am hoping so for now I will see what they intend to do

I applied for the Ticket to Work program from Social Security and got a call back and this time it is something I can do at home which would be order taking and computer data entry Right up my alley so I have my fingers crossed,please cross yours I am so bored I have not worked in 4 years

I have been doing a lot of artsy stuff again and have posted my work on the page and in photobucket  I like to share and most of it is done through paint.net. I really enjoy working with the program and the updates are terrific and after this post I will be at it again I am getting pretty good at drawing with the old mouse LOL

Downloaded the new 10 years and Rush albums and will be putting some of the songs on my play list soon 

As for everything else all is fine and good spent the Mothers day weekend with Chris' Mom as mine lives in Virginia she will come in July I can hardly wait to hang out with her  She is a great lady and really has done a wonderful job of being not only my Mom but my friend, she has been through a lot and has two of us to take care of her, me being the shoulder to lean on and always a welcome sign on the door. She has her own room, bath and all she loves it so if she decides to come home the room is always hers, I spoke with her regarding her position for later on in her older years and of course we will have her here she agrees it would be the best solution rent out her place or sell and then live with us for a while or for however long she likes

We got our invitation to the Florida wedding it's coming so fast now all I have to do is find a dress or grab one out of the closet I have a few I could use I just hope they fit LOL They should I had gained a few pounds NO WORK so I was inactive for a period while I recuperated but lately well exercise and diet they work well together and I am a stickler for that sort of thing

We watched with excitement team by team The New York Jets got a first round pick D1, 6: Vernon Gholston , DE, Ohio State Chris was thrilled!!!!  But where were the Washington Redskins ? Washington had traded the 21st overall pick in the draft to the Atlanta Falcons for a pair of second-round picks, at No. 34 and 48. They already had their own second-rounder, at No. 51

"On Saturday, Redskins quarterback Jason Campbell got what Tennessee's Vince Young didn't," Kiper wrote on ESPN. "With three second-round picks, the Redskins were able to get two wide receivers [Devin Thomas and Malcolm Kelly] and USC tight end Fred Davis...They gave their quarterback some much-needed weapons in the passing game." I was extremely happy I am thinking the Skins could do quite well this year

So much for Gibbs tenure. I was happy when he came back but as time grew so did my distaste for him,when he decided to retire it was intense to wait for the name of the new coach and we got Jim Zorn

On Sunday where were the Jets? OMG they traded away a spot !!!!! Chris was befuddled I was like they do this all the time what for. The Redskins have selected players who add solid depth to the team--but could also emerge as starters in a year or two so in Round 3 they selected offensive tackle/guard Chad Rinehart, in the 4th round selected offensive tackle/guard Chad Rinehart, 6th round selected punter Durant Brooks,defensive back Kareem Moore & quarterback Colt Brennan. In the 7th round they selected DE Rob Jackson and then defensive back Chris Horton. 10 picks Fantastic !!!!!!

The Jets select cornerback Dwight Lowery in the 4th round, QB Eric Ainge in the 5th, WR Marcus Henry in the 6th round and in the 7th round OT Nate Garner Chris was less than thrilled with most of the picks and what they had done trading picks but 6 picks OMG!!! We shall see what happens comes August and then we will see how they make out
